Stephanie has four children, two boys, ages 12 and 9, and two girls, ages 8 and 4. She is expecting her fifth, a baby boy, on March 16th, 2012. Stephanie lost her job just after finding out she was pregnant and is asking Reason to Give to help her with basic items for her children.
Stephanie was born and raised in Humboldt Park and is grateful for the strong roots she has in her community. She spends her day taking her oldest three children to school, caring for her youngest, cooking and taking care of the home. She also takes the bus every week to apply for jobs, but struggles to find work especially with her due date so close. Stephanie wants to go back to school, so that she can make a career for herself and provide for her growing family. This is the first time she has been out of work in a while and is hoping for a little help to get her through these hard times. She plans to go back to work after the birth of her son.
Stephanie's children enjoy school and many extra curricular activities. they love to play sports, musical instruments, and draw. Her youngest, though not yet in school, invents homework for herself. Stephanie wants her children to have a better life than she has had. She instills in them the importance of being educated and attending college and hopes that they will have good careers and not find themselves in the same situation she finds herself in now.
