Maggy wants to give back to the Humboldt Park community

The reason: Maggy has a very heart-breaking and heart-warming tale. She is a former addict who has been clean for 3.5 years. Her past is riddled with abuse which caused her to pretty much disappear for about 8 years.
She's clean now, and trying to get everything back on track. She's married and has a one-year-old baby boy, and she's in touch with her older children. Dreaming about becoming a drug counselor, Maggy would like to one day open her own home to help people who are in the throws of what she went through. She contacted RTG to help her get a computer.
Previously, Maggy was in school to become a drug counselor, but she left because she was so far behind in computer skills. Maggy told us that she feels that the 8 years she was 'gone' were the years when everyone else honed their computer skills, skills she needs in order to continue her schooling. Embarrassed, but knowing she needs to learn how to use a computer, Maggy is ready to learn and continue to work towards her dream of becoming a counselor.
Maggy wants do to good, wants to give back, and to help people who are facing the hardships she once faced.
